Two Medicine Lunar Eclipse

Taken during yesterdays (2011-12-10) full lunar eclipse. This image was captured in the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park, MT. The wind was howling (as it almost always does on the east slope) so this image is just a tad soft.

I can’t wait to do this hike again, one of my favorite places to go in the park. With all the snow in the park this year I am sure there will be plenty of runoff even in mid to late August. Got a late start this morning as I had out of state visitors that enjoyed this hike with me. Exif data shows 11:11am as the capture time, so it was extremely bright with a lot of shadows in the canyon. I tried to process a single image but could not do it justice to what I remember. So here is a 3-shot blended version.

Hope you enjoy this one and thanks for looking.

Eagle, Hwy. 2 — Glacier National Park

Eagle I spotted on the way home from work about a week ago. This was along Hwy. 2 on the southern border of the park between Essex and East Glacier Park. I managed to get quite a few shots but he was so far away that most were not very good. This is the one that I liked the best. It was not till he took flight that I realized there was a second eagle somewhere that I did not notice before, they flew off together into Glacier National Park as I was departing…
